The incomplete fuel consumption will make your bike sputter. Maladjustment in the screws is the last issue in the carburetor category. If the engine has a flat spot, or is popping/sneezing in the air cleaner, it can indicate a lean condition. If you notice stumbling or sputtering, it can indicate a rich condition. Last night on a whim I decided to see if maybe it was a sensor going bad. I disconnected the battery for about 30 minutes and then reconnected. If the engine is pulling hard up a hill and its not completely revved out then it won't sputter. I haven't done a full throttle plug chop with a new plug but I have changed the plug and changed the main jet from 182 - 188 it doesn't make a difference, it still cuts out. My jetting isn't the problem. If the engine is pulling hard up a hill and its not completely revved out then it won't sputter. I haven't done a full throttle plug chop with a new plug but I have changed the plug and changed the main jet from 182 - 188 it doesn't make a difference, it still cuts out. My jetting isn't the problem.
